Its been a long while since I've been out on the yak. Went to Dana for a few hours this a.m. with a co-worker and the Gayak. Nothing spectacular except the weather. No wind, no swell, no surf, greasy calm. Chilly early, but warmed up nicely. Bait barge only had chovies. Didn't have much time, so we fished the rivermouth. Shallower seemed to be where most of the action was, but then again we didn't get any legals either. Every bait we sent down resulted in a fish, a farmed bite, or a raked bait. Nothing huge, but very fun, and a good way to start the day before work.

Final count
5 or 6 Halis to 21"
1 Sculpin
1 Sandy
1 Cuda
Some mega macs

Birds were crashing waaay out by the point, but didn't have enough time to chase 'em

Couple o pics

Well done Steve! Did you pick up the Sandie in the shallows too? I couldn't get a whiff if them yesterday, but didn't fish anything less than 45 ft

Nice!
On the way back in I contemplated hitting that area, but I was a bit spent from the paddle and chop. It was really inviting and empty down there.

That's a real green sandy. Must be hangin in the grass.

Ya, the sandie was in about 10ft. Sculpin came that shallow too. We didn't have much time, so we stayed from 6 to 14 feet. Looked pretty fishy out by the point. Oh well, maybe I'll get there next week during the rain...

Might have been those bones/macks/cuda out there.

There was a moment when the birds were up and active out there, and there was a couple pair of sealions working it from below, but that was out about even with the spars and didn't last too long.
