The next round of MLPA DFG Commission meeting for public comment will be held on March 3rd.

Of course we do not have the specific details, but it will be in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/ /><st1:City alt=</st1:City>Upland, <st1:State w:st="on">Ontario</st1:State></ST1:p. Since most meetings will likely be in Sacramento<ST1:p, let’s get the numbers to attend this meeting close to home.

We need ceded time, and speakers! If this meeting is anything like the first, it will take 15 cards to cede time towards one speaker.
<O:p
More specific details of time, agenda, and address will be provided once they are received. Here is the general link, for general info.

This whole stuff has got me crazy...

I...can't sleep at night...wonder where I can get fish...voices inside my head...Neptune speaking to me...goals and dreams I've worked so hard on, set to vanish at the blink of an eye...what is my recourse...should I listen to the voices...oh, those voices...must maintain...yet I must remain calm, logical...yet those voices persist...

Yet still I wonder, the elder fish also ponder, why don't they address the water quality issue first, deal with the runoff, create fish friendly habitats, limit take, find ways to make sure all persons are abiding by the rules designated to promote optimum growth for our denizens, and find ways to enforce said rules?

Oh, those dang voices...now I see little fishies, asking the same thing, over and over again...make the water clean again, make it so...so many questions...why must you make it so easy for us to get caught in nets, yet you chastise the people that care about us the most?

That would make too much sense, you can't take over the state and have it make sense.

I'll be there with my new to me wife! Been MIA for a while, but will be there to support and cede mine and wifey's speaker card. An added thank you for the one's that have been in the trenches for so long to preserve what is so precious for all of us. Wish I could have been involved from the get go with the others who have put in so much time and sweat, but unfortunately circumstances haven't allowed me too. But better late then never. Anything I can do, please let me know!

You do not even have to ask if I will be there. I will not be in the best shape due to an ongoing problem that baffles the doctors but I will be there I most likely will not be able to speak though so please do not get offended if I do not say much.

Thanks to you all! Feel better soon Jeff. And Josh, no worries, we all need to make a living. You've done more than many. Come on, we need a lot more help. This thing is far from over, and if we cede the field to the other side it can damn well get worse.

Here's a reason why we need to be there on March 3rd.

Note the voice of experience

Friends, we need to crank it up. The other side will be there, saying their 3 favorite words: more, More, MORE!!!! Be the counterbalance. Push back.

This thing is far from finished. Wake the hell up and get back in the game. If you think you've won anything with all the hard work that's gone into keeping a sliver of La Jolla, you better think again.

We have to seal the deal and keep our level of commitment up to the bitter end. That means hitting the hearings, and if you can't do that, write emails and letters and fire up your friends to continue the battle.

I will try to make it, unfortunately I won't be able to leave until after I drop the lad off to school. Hopefully besides all the 'regular' attendees we will see a lot of fresh faces...

Typical tactic of theirs though...have it during the week, and at an obscure, out-of-the-way location...on the opening of the Fred Hall show no less...hmmm, coincidence?

I will be sending a letter to the DFG today about the upcoming meeting, and will definitely mention all the BS we've had to put up with in this fair and balanced act.

Guys/gals,

what is preventing you from attending this meeting?

dgax65
03-01-2010, 09:45 AM
Look at the DFG Commission meeting schedule for CY 2010.

http://www.fgc.ca.gov/meetings/2010/2010mtgs.asp

This is the only meeting in SoCal until October. Effectively, this is your only chance to get to a meeting and have your voice heard. Are you going to pass up this opportunity? What is more important than this right now? I understand that there were a lot of meetings last year and maybe you couldn't get to all of them. This is the only meeting that is going to really matter this year. You have to make the effort. Sure, I'd like to be fishing on Wednesday, but some things are more important.

GO TO THE MEETING AND LET THEM HEAR YOUR OPINION. MAKE OUR DEMOCRACY WORK.

There's room for more! We haven't held onto anything yet. Hard as it is to make these meetings, please make the effort.

I'm not going to say much more here in public. If you don't know the issues, look for me or one of the other meeting regulars. For La Jolla, our biggest problems remain the proposed expansion of the current reserve all the way up to the pier (half of it anyway), and the new SMCA that would allow bait only north of the pier.

At Malibu, its closure of the birthplace of the sport at Pt Dume and its lee, and at Dana Pt, shifted effort from the enormous Laguna SMR aimed squarely at the shoreline. Both of these are absolutely brutal.

See you there! Remember, free Fred Hall admission for the first 100 anglers to check in with the Watermans Alliance, and gratis pizza for lunch for all ocean hunters. Mooching posers will not be welcome, so you can be sure the company will be good.
