Anyone out there use the Eagle Cuda and find that the depth feature has stopped working? Mine used to work and now it justs flashes 45 degrees. I'm not the brightest guy, but I know the water of LJ ain't that cold. Any ideas/suggestions?? Thanks for any help.

i use a hummingbird 570. my instruction book says that whenever a flashing of depth or no numbers present for depth happens the tranny is having a difficult time reading bottom. going through some tranny probs too!

Mine never stopped reading, but would not read past 15 feet or so. It turned out that the ducer died and got it replaced under warranty. Working great now. Good luck.

How is your ducer mounted? I had inaccurate depth reading after about 50 ft until I switch to a wet mount. (my goop mount turned out to be full of bubbles..)

is it easy to remount a transducer once it's been gooped?

I wouldn't say easy.. but not too bad either. Takes a little patience. With mine, the hard part was removing the goop from the transducer. It all pulled off the kayak with some effort, but the goop was really stuck to the ducer. have to carefully scrape and peel it away. A plastic scraper prevented damage to the ducer, and I also tried to weaken the goop with goo gone adhesive remover. Helped a little, and was able to slowly roll and peel it off. I was mainly concerned with getting all the bubbles out..

I had it gooped in before it died. It was a real pain un-gooping it then cleaning it up. I now have have it wet mounted just under my seat of my Outback. Easy to get to, and super easy to replace or test if ever needed again.

most likely a trasducer problem. I had the same problem 3 times over the years, either with Eagle or smaller Lawrance models (that happen to be compatible with the same transducer).

Each time I orderd a new transducer, installed it, amd I was back in business.
