On Saturday night, I won an Emmy award for my animation
project for tsunami preparedness commissioned by the
County of San Diego Office of Emergency Services.

The animation is intended to educate children about
tsunamis. David Leisure did the voice over for the main
character. If you're old enough, you may remember him from
the old Joe Isuzu commercials. I think he's on a soap opera now.

congrats!! my sister does post work in tv and movies, sound and effects. really can't explain it any more than that, other than it's every sound but dialogue. gun shots, door slams, footsteps, everything. she worked on 100+ episodes of CSI and she did most of the work, but studio got credit. anyways, I think they won once and got nominated several times. it's a HUGE honor in the industry. I know that those awards never make the on air show, it's all about the actors and what not. but for the tech side, it's a major coup to get an award like that. those silly brain dead actors and their insipid political posturing diminish the award. but I know how big it was for her and her studio.

Thanks guys.

Robmandel: I'm guessing she's a foley artist? That's cool. Something
I've always been interested in, since I do a bit of it with animation.

Tim: Not much flying lately, though I flew over DVL a couple of
months ago and I was thinking about the fishing. I'll have to hold out
for fishing DVL until I get back from Cabo. The calm water may do me good.
