Sockfoot Wader sizing

I bought a pair of LL Bean flyweights. When I received them, it seems like the "socks" are quite loose. I was expecting them to be snug, you know, like socks.

Has anyone run into this problem and regretted not getting a smaller size?

What do you all wear on your feet over your waders?
