I recently bought a 2011 Hobie Revolution. I got the kayak rigged for fishing and was anxious to take it out. I hit up NPH and wanted to make sure the fish finder, mirage drive, and rudder were all working. There was a lot of water movement with the incoming tide. I got to the harbor at 6am and fished until 12:45. I ended up with 5 spotties, 4 sandies, 2 lizard fish, and 1 sargo. I have never seen the water level so high in NPH. In the middle of the channel was about 28-30 feet of water at one point. The rocks near the coast guard were almost completely submerged as well.

A highlight of my fishing day was meeting a kayak angler named Gary out on the water that was full of information and advice. Advice to newbies fishing NPH: wave hi and say hello to people. Everyone is out to have a good time and enjoy the water. Have fun and catch (and release) fish. Don't take it too serious.

Aside: This kayak was my second Revolution in the last two months. I bought a "used" kayak from a Play It Again Sports. A month after I bought the kayak, I was informed it was stolen. I ended up returning the kayak for a full refund and got a great deal on a 2011 model.

Nice report, and congrats on the new ride!

The new Hobie "olive" color looks sweat, and I bet it's much cooler in the sun.

:reel:Congrats on the new boat, I love my Outback, I have been in this one for about 3 years now, and have been thinkin about switchin up to the Revo
I think those are a bit faster on the fly, but I don't think the loss of a few inches in width would be a problem in comparison to the advantages, you have a nice setup there, nice pics, good luck out there, I may make my way to NPH here shortly....b

Nice pictures!

NPH is a great area to fish. There is so much different structure you never know what lure will catch what fish. It is one area I have never been skunked while fishing.

:jig: Hey Roby I was the one you talked to at NPH and you asked me if i posted on any message boards well this is the first time. I have been fishing NPH for the last 6 years in my Hobie almost every weekend both days. If anyone comes up to me like you did I am always willing to give up my best baits and spots. There are plenty of fish in NPH AS LONG AS WE PRACTICE CATCH AND RELEASE.

ggman, thanks again for all the tips/stories. I'm actually installing the turbo fins and sailing rudder on my Revolution tonight. I also plan to put some braid on three of my "harbor/bass" reels this week...take care.
