I did a search but my point behind what I was saying is that the DFG has made Map 3 very easy to locate and all the others not so much. Point being is that the writing is on the wall. No I have not been living under a rock I just don't have the ability to break away and attend these meetings as others do. I have supported each and every thing in our favor as I can, and I will continue to do so.

Correct and from what it looked like to me Map 4 was the smaller of the choices meaning the moved it, as they said, 1 block North and 1 Block South. Is that what you heard also?

I heard that too and stating that the legal threat did not scare him at all.
Jimmyz123
12-15-2010, 02:32 PM
Did you catch what they said though? That all this may not matter anyway if the state can't afford to enforce any of it, or if they state also feels that there are other major issues to take on instead. It looks like to me that there is a great chance that this isn't going anywhere and has a long road ahead before it gets finalized.
you mean the guy who kept talking about what a waterman he is and how hard he rips and how tough it is to find a good left

IF all this gets the final vote that is. They clearly stated that just because they voted for these things doesn't mean they are going to get put into place.

I like how most of the expanding of the existing areas was explained as needing to be done so that people would be able to recognize the boundary...
Thanks to all who made it up there...If I hadn't been in C school I'd have taken leave early to get there...
I've just recently started fishing again, and it kills me to think, if some have their way, by the time I have grandkids I won't be able to take them fishing off the coast...
Markus
Well I'm totally confused as to where and where I can't fish so I'll just fish wherever I "think" I can hahahaha

Nothing I like better than to stand in a crowded room and listen to some environmental lunatics spewing the crap that they have been fed as though it were truth. And others that think that Prop. 3 is going to magically reduce pollution and runoff. They really know not what they do, only what they have been force fed.

They did vote to leave the entire pier open to bait making, but the north boundary will be moved to just south of the pier.

I thought we more than towed the line...............same ol snooty LAG HAGS and blue shirts doing the noble thing standing up against the short sighted fisherman :the_finger: I suppressed more than 1 "WAKE UP!" or "OPEN YOUR EYES!" To all the guys here, BIG thanks for representing our interest. :cheers1:
One question,
If I fish aoutside of a closed area, can I travel through a closed area with my catch? As in towards a beach where I want to land? How would this be enforced?

Here is roughly how things will be changing for north La Jolla, only bait making in the northern blue, no fishing zone has taken plenty of good stuff! Gregos Monster Butt hole, The Road, the Round house, Heart Break Hotel..........yuck!

The way I understand it, it was because it was too confusing for the public to use the boundary line that basically cut the pier in half. So it was moved to the South to cover all of the pier.

Once all is made final and illegal to fish, I personally will be Kayak Fishing (specifically) in almost every body of water they recently just closed down in California. So will my children, and their children, and their Grandkids!!...

Those wouldn't be the flat types of bait would they?
Honestly though until this thing is put into law, and the DFG figures out how to patrol it, isn't all of this a year or two away from going into effect? There will be a lot of court battles and such going on and I really don't see any of this happening at least for 3 years if at all. I think the State has more important things to worry about than trying to close down fishing areas to protect whatever may be living down below.
Just fish where you want to fish. They cant enforce this. The laguna green police and do gooder moms have not legal juristiction to do anything but whine and cry.
The good side of the meeting i will say is that all the laughs from Lag Hags (well put by andy) kept us laughing.
"i even question my own existance and carbon footprint" classic... she lived on a house boat and said shes seen the whole world from it i guess. :biggrinjester:
One gal, "i was raised a fisherman and my son is interested in fishing, and im in support of the mlpa and maximum closurs becuase whenever i take him fishing ill be darn that i can never catch him a fish" :biggrinjester: As she waked away she gave her big hug to all her enivormental disorder ward and continued out the door. yeah right lady... the only fish shes ever seen is inbetween h...
It was interesting to see that there was Park Ranger officials who had showed up lobbying for some of that money.

Guys, we have at least a year before these go into effect. There's all kinds of red tape, and maybe a court action or two first.
