Miramar is my favorite local trout lake. I'd highly reccomend it. There is a technique using a half full bobber and the power worm on a 3-5 foot leader. The bobber floats and allows the line to run free through the little tube of the bobber. The worm slowly sinks to the 3-5 level. When the trout take it your line just gets taunt. It's kind of like free lining. It's a much more exciting way to catch trout than power bait on the bottom. If they are not up top and schooling it won't work.

SOT kayaks are allowed at Miramar, and Murray. I'm not sure if there are any others. Poway, Jennings, Cuyamaca were out last time I checked.

Cuyamaca is seasonal on kayaks but SOT is OK. That is not a City lake though (same with Jennings)

Otay, San V, El Cap, Murray, Hodges, and Mirimar are all OK for SOT use and are city lakes

thanks fellas, yes Miramar is fun. Saw no bass and the water was colder at the surface today than it was yesterday. Hopefully the truck makes it in tomorrow for new plant

Im gonna try and hit it tomorrow in the kayak.

It says itll be closed on Christmas, but that was the same on thanksgiving. I just hauled it up there on the wheels and there were other tubers up there.

I may be there then too. Great limit though, it wasnt that great thanksgiving, but hopefully I can pull a few in!

Great fish man, all about the same size? The ones ive been seeing were all 1.5-2, none of those monsters from last year.

Thanks for the inspiration! I went out today and got a couple on the Kastmaster. I also saw the stocker truck roll in this afternoon, so the fishing should be good for you guys going in the next few days.

Tomas BouyantTake it from somebody who fishes for trout all the time; trolling a 1/6 oz. Thomas Buoyant(my favorite is the blue with red, black and yellow dots) is the way to go. When you find a hot spot, try casting, but trolling is the way we catch 90% of them. Check out some photos (http://www.watermanatwork.com/KayakFishing/KayakFishingPhotos/PacNWPhotos/PacNWKayakFishingPhotos.html) and video (http://www.watermanatwork.com/KayakFishing/KayakFishingVideo/PacNWVideo/PacNWVideo.html).
I'd rather be fishing for yellowtail or WSB, but they are kinda scarce around here, so trout it is!

nice. Love miramar for the quick limits on trouts but i love poway for their sizes. Only thing about poway is we cant launch our yaks there.
