Took the plunge...
so there I was...
upside down...blowing bubbles...
laughing my ars off...
that was it...my last paddle of the egg...
the last endo/pearl on the Outback...
me and my Outback have had a great run, but it was time to move on...
after many months of wanting...
the waiting is finally over...I am my own Santa...
I am now the owner of a nice new Revo...

thanks to all who answered my inquiries...
I settled with the most expensive rod holder known to man...
it seemed the most logical solution...
my reasoning was this...
(it holds alot more stuff than my ice chest did!)
what can I say...
the biggest hurdle was having a 2" hole saw punching thru the bottom of my brand new Revo...after the first test drive...not even a micro drop of water in the hull...shoulda done this along time time ago...

can't wait to try it in the waves...(after the poop goes away)

Nice kayak, you are going to love it. I was also going to ask about your fishfinder.

the fish finder is the Lowrance 522c iGPS...
it's about two + years old or so...
still can't justify a new FF.....yet...

I am planning on buying a Lorance HDS-5 in the near future. Do you know if I can switch out the transducer for a thru the hull without paying additional money?

I got a mac notebook for myself last week(if u have'nt noticed my increase use in computer activity lately, this is reason why). I have 15 notebooks of hand written fishing journals that I have acured over the past 14 years that I need to transfer to the mac. Its time to go high tech.... back on topic, that t16a is a dream.

way cool, & you will love having the ducer in direct contact with the water. When I did mine it gave me a whole new perspective

For the 3 days a year I get to be on the water that is :argh:

They are made by Airmar http://www.airmartechnology.com/
Unfortunately, they are only made for the HDS series.

BTW, Sweet ride bruddah. Wish they would make the fat man version of that.

Arimar does makes the P319 to fit Garmin & Hummingbird.
I have a P319 that has been mounted in a Prowler 15 for about 5 years.
Got a Revo this summer and have a HDS 5 with P319/Tempature mounted in it.
So no excuse not to have a clean thru hull tranducer.

not true...
this model will fit the X, LMS, LCX, and HDX series...
I called Lowrance and they said this will work on pretty much any FF with the blue connecter...
just call Lowrance to verify for your particualr unit....
also...search the internet....
there are cheaper places to buy than Lowrance...

I emailed Lowrance about a thru hull for my Elite 5 and they said just to epoxy the stock transducer. Although, after contacting Airmar, they suggested if I could change the 83khz to 50khz in the unit I could use the same transducer. So I am wondering if I could use it if I am not using the low frequency anyway? And if the connectors are the same. Guess it is time for another email to Lowrance.

Wow, quick reply from Lowrance. The Elite can use the same Xducer with this TA-BL2UQ-t. adapter for the cable. Just have to give up the low frequency signals.

Almost too clean. I'm sure you'll get it bloody soon enough, though :).

As a side note, out of curiosity, if you cut a big whole in the bottom of your brand new Hobie does it effect your warranty? I have no interest in cutting a whole in the bottom of my boat, but have always wondered about this for those that do.

not sure about the warrenty issue...

Hobie is really good about standing by their stuff...
chances are, if the defect requiring warrenty was nowhere near the hole they would stand by it...

matter of fact...
the last time I had a boat warrenteed by them...
they asked me to cut out the serial # and send it too them...
now that was a big hole in the boat...
