That trip was doomed before they even set one foot in the water. You could see that each of them were not sure of what they were doing and just did not handle the entire launch right. Too bad they lost all that gear.

I saw a husband and wife duo do the same thing this summer at LJ. So freaking lucky no one was hurt. They were under power, but got sideways in the surf. Not good!

heh almost happened to my friend and i in our zodiac a few times. almost got a spinning propeller to the foot

I had a little whaler I used to launch at LJ.You have to time it right thats for sure.I would fire up the motor in waist high water before I got in.It looked to me like they picked a spot where the wave seemed to be peaking,I would have tried a little further down the beach.

I think that captain kept his cool pretty well.I think the guy on the bow trusted his buddy because I probably would have ditched.I think he was rewarded with a pair of broken legs...
Why isnt anyone in THAT lineup.those are some beautiful,hollow 6 - 8 ft'ers
