damn that hali rocked you REAL HARD!

Thanks for sharing your "learning oportunity". There is always a bit, or more than a bit, of anxiety when it comes time to gaff a big halibut, cause you never know if they are going to freak. Your's
sounded like a worst case scinario. Mike |
It was a good gaff, and the fish just laid there. Game clip went on with the fish still calm as can be. He even held the fish by the gaff for at least another minute without a pee. But soon as he pulled the gaff it went psycho.

I almost had one of those moments with a 20lb hali.
Go to 1:10 and you'll see what happens when the gaff slips out. <a href="<iframe width=" 420"="" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/56zpo6ADjbI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="">"><a href="<iframe width=" 420"="" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/56zpo6ADjbI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/56zpo6ADjbI" allowfullscreen="" width="420" frameborder="0" height="315"></iframe> |
