Obviously, you didn't read my entire reply and no I don't want to check your tying technique:p. I've been using that same knot since 2007 and I haven't had any issues with it once its tied.

I just go straight braid.

I love the tony peña, bob sands, whatever else you want to call it. I like it because it has a tell tale sign if it is tied correctly. The spectra portion of the knot becomes rigid. So you know right away if you have any imperfections. It shares all the advantages of the rp knot with sone of the same drawbacks. As you get above 40lb leader the connection becomes somewhat obtrusive and can get caughts up in the last few guides. I use it on all my setups.

How so? More turns going up and down? No matter how many turns up and down, the concept is exactly the same. I think I'm gonna do 13 turns and call it the Freddy Krueger knot, or maybe 33 and call it the Freemason knot! LOL, its all the same crap.

Alberto has wraps going up and wraps going down. Albright just has wraps going down only.

You are wrong my friend. Two different knots.

What I do is put my rod in a holder at a slight angle, then I put a decent weight on the end of the braid (I usually use my pliers). Just let it dangle there. This keeps the spectra line always tight and I proceed with the alternating wraps with the flouro.

I could never do it will with just my hands
