I'd say a 16 foot skiff with a 15-25hp outboard and you'll be set. With that you wouldn't need to launch at LJ but could trailer it to Mission bay to launch then motor on up to LJ. Takes less then an hour and is much easier.
You can add a bait tank easily as well as electronics.
Check out Craigslist, there are a lot out there. Be patient though, don't grab the first one you see, unless it is what you want. Also, a four stroke will be better than a two stroke. They are quieter and smoke way less. Plus, you can take them on any lake in So. Cal. |
