it's made of plastic lol
I don't know what a plug is. It's a Fastrac from SquidCo. My inexperience once again rears it's ugly head... |

OK. I guess that one doesn't count.
What I do like about this contest is that it's forcing me to try different colors, depths and locations so that I can try for different species. I'm confident any submissions beyond the 3Bs, halibut or YT, I'm going to need help identifying. I guess that's when I can really expect some ribbing. At least I'm able to put between 8 & 20 hours on the water per week and will eventually learn. |
2 More for my list...

around 75lbs. I knew what it was right away. Reading these boards really helps. :) |

Ditto that! I am a Noob to this as well, listening to these boards, talking with others while on the water, getting in time on the yak, and just a touch of common sense, has gone a long long way to make me a more respectful and knowledgeable fisherman. Thanks to all who contribute to my education!:luxhello: |
Another Plasticman Submission
Rockfish, I believe...Can someone tell me what kind? I caught 3 of these this morning. Each was between 10 and 12 inches. Rockfish - Black over Pink - 10.75" - La Jolla http://www.abszero.com/fishing/rockfish-07-03-18-c.jpg |
Looks like a Red Vermillion to me, unless it has a bunch of white spots also that I can't see.
Matt |
Not sure if they're spots. Here's a pict of another, but it looks the same

Possibly copper rockfish or starry.......I can't tell the difference most of the time........nice fish either way
|
The little white spots would make it a starry.;)
|
Its a Copper
When you see Mike on the "No Slack" thank him for the rockfish Id pics. http://www.bocaboard.com/forum/showt...light=rockfish |

DBite were you in the kayak?
|
I was wondering if that was an unwritten rule. No I wasn't.
|
DBite, sorry for the confusion, it was an overlooked assumption on my part and never came up in the first years Ironman contest. I have added that into the original rules. Being a kayak fishing website I had just figured it to be implied. Sorry! :D It would be cool to fish the backside of the surf on small days. I have thought of doing it many times.
|
No worries. Sometimes its hard to check those lawyer instincts (if it's not in writing...). I figured it wasn't allowed but thought since I was going perch fishing that day, and since it wasn't in writing, I might as well try to get away with one :) But I bet you can guess which species I'll be targeting next time I'm out...

Has sculpin been added to the list?

=Sorry! this was an error on my part. I copied and pasted last years list and somehow it was not on it and nobody noticed it until now. If any other likely species are missing let me know, as the wildcard should be something uncommon. |
Cool, thanks.
|
Thanks for adding it. I noticed that when I posted and thought it strange if I would have
been given the wildcard entry on that, especially since I've never even seen some of the others that are listed, let alone caught one. :D |
How about adding the Salema if it is not there.

These submissions are for bassboyc. I took the pics and my internet is extremely slow right now, so all I could manage was to get them on moment of fame which i dont know how to use, i've tried uploading certain pics multiple times, to have duplicates posted, but not the pic i want.
