I knew you would eventually become useful, thanks for volunteering to clean my fish.

Is June a better choice than May?

Seems as if everyone is happy to be going in June but no May excitement?? Is there really that much difference?

This will be a first getting to a remote location on the Yak!

Thanks in advance,
Dwayne

I think any will be good. June just fit my schedule. You can go wrong on these trips I don't think

jorluivil 12-10-2012 03:07 PM

For me its all about when a majority of the guys that I fish with can go. I just hate the fact that Ful-Rac might not go so he will not be able to defend his halibut weight record from last year, I would just hate for someone to chatter that record.

Most of the guys that grabbed June was because we were on the same trip last year. I think there are at least 12 repeats on the June trip. We had very windy days and had to move all over the island to look for a place to fish. But we had a good time with a great group of guys.

wiredantz 12-10-2012 08:52 PM

All i know... Is that Matt is bringing the bananas.... AND I AM BRINGING NACHOS!!!!!!

SDROB 12-10-2012 10:08 PM

Signed up for both 2.5 days!

lowprofile 12-10-2012 10:17 PM

I'm expecting there will be an awesome HD movie after this trip?

how do you guys charge your batteries, radios and cameras on these things?

I'm in for June too. I can't wait!!!!

If the Islander mixes up two of my fish again at the weigh-in, I'm going to get REALLY pissed this time ;)

There are outlets in the eating area and some bunks.

xpresso2am 12-11-2012 06:28 AM

Since this will be my first trip. Do you guys have any gear/tackle recommendations?

TEAMFISH 12-11-2012 07:22 AM

Just made the reservation, 1.5 day only but I'll take it.

No surprise there.

What's the total count for the trip? Last year it was pretty crowded.

Total count is 23 with Easton going as the OEX Rep. Freedivers without kayaks are not counted here as they are booked by The Islander directly.

Last year there were 24 including the PA which took up extra space plus freedivers.

I am in for the 1.5 Day this year. Should be a good time.

It should be fine with 23. Too soon to worry about crowding. Weren't you and Tony first on the water?

FlyFishinYakr 12-28-2012 11:49 AM

Is there a standby list? If there is sign me up & I'll call in a CC for a deposit.
FFY.

In three days we'll no longer be saying, "are you ready for the Islander trip next year".

I'm already packing!!!!

Gotta know the schedule...

Hey what time do the 2 days leave? Trying to get my days off for the May Trip already; better early than last minute.

Thanks in advance,

Dwayne

Siebler 01-07-2013 11:19 AM

Be there about 5-6 leave 8-9

jorluivil 01-07-2013 11:29 AM

I/we like to show up around 2 or 3ish, gives us time to slowly unload, grab some lunch/dinner, shoot the sh*t with the other yakker's and listen to Matt's wonderful fishing stories, this year will be even more eventful with Frank joining the crowd.

Traffic on the 5fwy south can go from OK to HOLY CR*P, WE'RE NEVER GOING TO MAKE IT ON TIME! I'm not sure where you're coming from but if it normally takes you 2 hours to get to San Diego allow yourself an additional 2-3hours, you'll thank me later. The extra time will allow you to make runs to the grocery store, hardware store or tackle shop for anything that you may have forgotten to pack.

1.5 trip for May

Hey there. Is the 1.5 day trip for May sold out?

Janine:paddleersmilie:

Siebler 01-23-2013 12:28 PM

We still have about 8 spots on the 1.5 day.

ful-rac 01-23-2013 12:32 PM

You should call shane and tell him to reconsider PAs...I would go!

StinkyMatt 01-23-2013 03:34 PM

I say you should allow PAs.

One catch, the owner of the PA has to load, unload and launch his kayak.

Sorry Tony, we got an 11foot revo for you.:D
