Andy,
Okay, I can do a day w/o the trolling motor and paddle instead... no problem. But another question... I'm considering entering the Halibut Division but am curious about keeping the catch alive... or does that apply only to bass? I assume halibut need to be a legal length of 22", but be kept alive as well? Don't have a live well that large... and not sure if it applies in this division or not. Can you please clarify? Also, can you explain the procedure about weigh-in boats (as I heard someone mention that they might be in use for this event)... Thanks! |
halibut division, do not need to be alive, do need to be legal 22"+

Excellent news... Batson Enterprises has once again stepped up to the plate and donated another great prize for a great cause. Their generousity and appreciation towards our military is beyond words and I'm proud to collaborate with them on this project. Construction has started on a brand spankin' new Revelation 72H in all Alps components. Will try and keep yall updated as progress continues.

Andy, if I join both divisions can I fish live bait for halibut on one rod and artificial bait(for bass) on the other? Obviously, I'm aware that catching a bass on live bait does not count..................based on the size of the baits that I like to use for halibut I doubt a bass will swallow it |
no.

OK, I forgot to ask but if I join the halibut division can I still fish the bass division? |
Jorge, I set it up this year where you had to specify one or the other, I hoped to persuade guys without livewells or just not into bass fishing an option to participate. Depending on how many we draw to the halibut division will determine what we do next year.
|
2 weeks to go! did you see we added a Bulldog Folding Trailer to the list of raffle prizes! Hoping for 100 more sign ups! and only 50 more swag bags! You can make a difference and be a part of something VERY cool!
|
Hey Andy, maybe next year(or even this year) you could pay into both divisions but still only fish artificials? This would get $50 from guys like myself who would like to fish artificials but would still have a crack at winning the halibut division. The stipulation would be if you enter both divisions only artificials would be allowed on your boat.

Yes,
This is what I was hoping for. I would think it would raise more money for HOW. Maybe ya"ll would consider it. |
Can somone mark on the map where the no fish zones are at?
(5mph hours bouys) |
TWELVE DAYS and counting. Lots of swag, raffle items and good times. Remember all proceedes go to OUR HEROES on the WATER. I only count 53 entrants, what are we waiting for? I see a lot of missing names on the list, what's up?
|
Frank they should be right about the very lower left hand corner of this map

I'm looking forward to getting all my gear sorted out and put together for this tournament. This should be epic! Can't understand why there are only half the number signed up from last year, but that just means less competition for fish...., and the raffle prizes! With so many cool prizes being raffled off, I may have to buy a boatload of tickets! Should be an awesome event!

I've been intentionally lagging just so I could watch Cbad Mike sweat a little...:the_finger:
My mission in this tourney is to kick Jorge's arse with a bigger butt...no limit on number of rods!!! Jim |
smack talk...........keep it coming!
Bait barge ruling this year, no fishing within 20 yards, that means you or your lure/bait. The docks in Quivera Basin are fair game. |
Ok I'm In!!
Let's go fish'n! :luxhello:

8. Scoring will determined by the total weight of an angler's 3 heaviest bass as weighed by the weigh boats.
Will there be specific locations for the weigh boats? And if so can they be added to the map so everyone is on the same page? What time does the parking lot open? Thanks. |
Paid
|
The weigh boats will be moving around, plan on keeping your fish alive as they may not come back your way for an hour or 2 depending on how busy they get.
Bait barge is being put off limits because it is one small area that could only be fished by a few. It is known to be a haven for big lazy sandbass. |
Does anyone know what time the parking lot opens?
|
I think the Mission Bay lots say no parking 2am-4am to keep people from camping out.
|
Boundary question?
It states to the 5mph marker in the channel! Map above shows
Channel off limits just curious? |
the "off limits" was no posted by us, it does show the general vicinity. The boundary will be the 5 mph buoys in the channel exiting the bay.
