I'm sure the producers are filling it with drama to attract the viewers, they could care less about hook sizes and bait options. |
Shows like this (reality) are the reason that I stopped watching TV years ago.
I'm not bagging on this particular show because I've never seen it but I believe that "reality" shows contribute to the dummying down of society . Just my opinion but reality shows are basically all the same from The Real Housewives of wherever to Honey Boo Boo. I've never seen an episode of the Kardashians and feel more intelligent because of that and I sure as hell won't pay a cable company so they can continue to produce more trash and sudo "celebrities". P.T. Barnum said it best, "If you want to shoot for the masses, aim low" When I need my fix of REAL fishing video I just watch the posted stuff here on BWE. |
:cheers1: I could not agree more!

You want reality...come to BWE :luxhello:

That whole scene with Rob and Jon Jon...., what the hell was all that about? So these guys, (Rob and Andy) 'own' the waters and specific spots? Get real. That really gives the sport and us kayak fisherman a black eye. I know that's it just a TV show and that they need to have 'conflict' in it so that people will want to watch, but that was a bit over the top. Jon Jon should have just gone out anyway and told them to get lost.
Oh, by the way...., I now claim the fishing rights to all of Newport Harbor. Anyone who wants to fish there has to check with me and get my permission first! Rob need not apply.... |
UPDATE to last post...
I just watched the show online up to the part where the guy jumps in the water to untangle his rudder and that was more than enough for me. Gotta ask... Who does that guy who was training the new guy think he is by having him carry rocks? Mister freakin Miyagi? LOL I'm sure that I wasn't the only one who noticed that while this guy was taking the new guy to what they say is a such a dangerous area, the new guy was paddling with his paddle upside down. LOL. What a joke!!! Editing gets a C- at best. Side note... From what I hear the Vanilla Ice Home improvement reality show editing gets a B-. I think I heard "Bro" enough, thank you. Had to laugh when the guy lost the Tuna right after he thanked God for allowing him to catch it. LMFAO!!! Makes it look as if God doesn't like the show either. I was also wondering that if the only reason the two guys fished was to sell their catch why they wouldn't just buy a boat. I'm sure they could make a better living with a skiff. ANYWAY..... I really did try to watch with an open mind but like I said before, reality TV is not for me. |
It's not a fishing show, it's about the men - the Pacific Warriors. It will never be a fishing show.
Mike, why would you lump this in with Honey Boo Boo without ever watching it? Read the backstories. These guys aren't even what we think of as kayak fishermen here. Some are paying respect to the gods and their ancestors way of life and protecting their ancient fishing community waters. Once you get that part then the show becomes better, even with the editing flaws. |

I gave it a second chance to be a fishing show and it failed miserably.

Expecting this to be a fishing show is like expecting the real housewife shows to be about housewife stuff 😊...
It would be to boring.. Side bet on who gets Kimmi prego first and when Rob turns out to be really Rachel in season 3... |
I wish some of your fishing reports were as long winded as your opinions of a cable tv show..... Just impressive
