VINNYC 08-19-2011 09:42 PM

jorluivil 08-19-2011 09:45 PM

Those are some beautiful fish

Aaron&Julie 08-19-2011 09:47 PM

That is so awesome. Good eating fish like that up north is the only way I could leave behind the yellows and whites at LJ. Probably a lot of fun on bass gear. Nice haul.

silverbullet 08-23-2011 08:50 AM

Holy Mackerel 08-23-2011 09:53 AM

Quality looking fish. Good eats for sure. Keep em coming. :reel:

jorluivil 08-23-2011 11:56 PM

Where did you launch from?

DanaPT 08-24-2011 10:00 AM

That launch and landing does look. . .

Like two hand's full. . .

I think surf launches are easier than what I see here.

VINNYC 08-24-2011 01:57 PM

This launch beats any surf launch, you are protected from the waves by a natural jetty. Once we launch and you get around the jetty your in the cabezon lingcod breading bround. This is my spot I call little alaska due to the hogs we pull out of here. Stay tuned for the post here in a minute.

Alright Bret, matt, Tim, erick, roby, George and others we need to plan a trip to LinCodale!!!!! When are going I have my things packed already!!!!

MattRabasco 10-12-2011 02:17 PM

Do you have to have some type of special clearance to fish here or can the public access it? Looks like a great place. It is on the air base right?

The surf forecast for today was a new 11 foot swell  at 17 seconds,
some beaches up there may be showing 20' waves on the sets.

http://cdip.ucsd.edu/recent/model_images/socal_now.png

... And...
winds gusting to 25 knots from the north.

Interested to know if it was even remotely launchable, or, a 'whitewater
wonderland' which is what I would absolutely expect. Unless your launch
is EXTREMELY protected .. and I'm thinking boat house would be the only
option.

Those are some beautiful fish. Looks like a hard launch to me. I can see myself dropping my yak for sure!

VINNYC 10-12-2011 09:09 PM

Answering a lot questions

You do need special clearence or to be with the right person with that clearence. The launch at the northern end of the base is a very easy launch. There really isnt much cliff to it and it is like a ramp walking down to it. The boat house is an aswome place to fish and the drop in is very easy with a lot of protection from the surf. Today the wind was blowing around 25 when we got out there even at 4am. We did not fish it today but did more recon then anything. Looking to hit it on sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yaksailor 10-13-2011 11:22 AM

Nice catch! I've fished just South of there at Jalama. The landing can be tougher than County Line on a rough day. The wind can turn on like a switch, so be sure to have yer radios.

:cheers1:

Rad catches guys....

You did a great job making the rest of us look like pussies for the soft sand drive your car and drop beach launches......

Thank you for your post. Your report reminds me of what BWE used to be. I place where you could share information with each other in a timely manner.

Congratulations on your catch!!:sifone:
