2.5 San Martin Island, mothership trip!! ....October 26-29

Okay guys, sorry for the delay. I've been busy and getting a hold of Captain Jody to iron out details has been difficult with him on the water so often. These are the details of my 2.5 day mothership trip aboard the Voyager out of Seaforth Landing, San Diego to San Martin Island. We will load up October 26th before 4:00 and we will return Monday morning around 8:00 am the 29th. Day one fishing will be spent at San Martin Island. If you haven't fished the island, it's Calico heaven and the yellow bit is crazy!! This is a good time for you to catch the trophy fish of a lifetime. This will be a full day fishing at the island. Day two will be spent at Pescadoro Bay where we will be fishing for Calicos, Yellowtail and Halibut. This is another paradise that is rarely fished. Price of the trip is $395 per person. Price includes, fuel surcharge, food, bunk, everything except permits. Mexican visa and Mexican fishing license will be paid at Seaforth landing. There will be giveaways from my various sponsors, Bass Pro Shop, Berkley, etc. For further details, visit my website at http://rockitcharters.tumblr.com

There will only be 15 guys on this trip. First come, first serve policy, $125 deposit, non-refundable, secures your spot. Checks can be sent to me personally or trips can be paid in full on my website. Feel free to contact me 951-496-9181, or PM me with any questions. This is a trip of a life time at a price that can't be beat!!! Departure time can change depending on weather and fishing, But I will keep all posted who go on this trip.

Thanks for all of the questions and the interest in the kayak trip. I spoke with Captain Jody this morning in regards to your pro-angler questions. He will contact John from the Islander and see how he operates. I will have an answer for you soon, I hope. Keep in mind this is a smaller boat an Jody is fabricating his rack next week with the help of John. There will be a zodiac on the water to assist us. As of today there are nine spots left. Any questions, please call me direct or send me an email. Phone calls are more desirable. Keep in mind, this is a fishing trip, not a cruise. Thanks guys.

I hope that PA answer comes I have been waiting on that reply for over 2 weeks now.

Sorry its taking so long, with the voyager out on trips so much, answers are hard to come by. You can call the captain direct. Jody Morgan 858 220-1593. I'll do the best I can guys.

Bump

gilrockit 05-29-2012 09:07 PM

sorry guys still waiting on the PA's. 8 spots left on this trip!!

Yakin 05-30-2012 06:09 AM

Those 8 spots would be filled in two sec. is a for sure answer on the PA were known.

PA's on the Voyager

I understand the weight and storage issues of the PA's. To minimize possible injury to crew members while launching and retrieving PA's; a sling could be fabricated out of 1/2" rope and use of a davit hoist would eliminate back injuries. I recently purchased a hoist used by deer hunters for dressing out their game. It slides into the 2" towing receiver and extends above my camper shell. I use it to puit my PA on my kayak rack on top of the camper shell. Pivots 360 degrees and good for 300 lbs. Cost $100.00 from Sportsman's Guide. Did not mean to hijack the thread. bosco

Hey guys, due to the fact that Paypal is killing me with fee's if you gonna pay on paypal their will be a $15 fee. You can send me a check or do a personal payment on paypal for $395.00 . We can always do the old school thing cash in hand. Anything to get away from the fee's. I'm not making a dime off this trip so I hope you understand, I even have to pay. If you have any questions PM me. I just updated the site. For those of you that already paid online you get a free be.:DThanks again.

Hopefully I hear back soon, I have no problem with them. But it is a smaller boat. Believe me the sooner I fill the trip the more sleep I get!

Ok guys what are your thoughts on stacking the pro anglers on the deck. Remember this boat is 55' long. If you guys don't have a problem with the room I think we can swing it. Just keep in mind this is not the Islander you will get great food and a bunk to sleep in with a great crew. Let me know how you feel about the spacing part. And I will let the captain know. It wold be cool to get a pro angler down to the boat to see how we can swing eight or so Pro anglers.

As of now outback are good, We have not got the ok for the pro anglers yet. so if you want in I would put a deposit fast:) let me know bro. I do apologize guys for the delay in the answer for the pro anglers guys.

DarthFisherman 06-12-2012 08:04 AM

I am really interested in dropping the cash for this trip. Just out of curiosity, how many BWE members are signed up already?

Ok guys, just got off the phone with the Captain. He does not think he can fit the pro anglers. He does not even think he can fit the 15 kayaks he quoted me! Gonna drop him off dimensions for pro angler and other kayaks to see what he comes up with. I think he bit off more than he can chew with the 15 kayaks. He can do 11 kayaks, but it will run us around $500, which is crazy!!! If he can't get 15 on the boat in a safe fashion I'm gonna have to cancel the trip. I'm so sorry guys. All I wanted to do was get an epic trip together, but it's turning into more of a headache. Gonna drop off dimensions to him on Tuesday. If he can't come up with a plan by next Friday, I'm done. For those that paid you will get a full refund! And I'll throw in a little something for your time. So no more payments till they get this thing right. I apologize again guys.

gilrockit 06-20-2012 05:50 PM

Ok guys, Lets talk about this trip! Talked with another boat I deal with yesterday. And from what it sounds like we can make this trip happen. And we can take some pro Anglers. The down fall is its gonna be more money and I'm only taking 11 kayaks/people. I'm hopping to get the price around $500-550 :questionmark: it might be a three day, Leave friday around noon come back monday around 3pm? And we will be at the Island for two days we need lots of time to travel on this trip. The captain is gonna give me a price soon, But we went over his rack for the yaks and all the fine details. I got five people in at this price just need six more who's in???? For those that left me a deposit let me know if you're willing to pay the difference. I will have everything set in stone soon. Not trying to jump the gun just giving you an update. Thanks
