HELP - Kayak & SUV roof rack system wanted!
I'm looking to get some racks for my SUV. I have a Cayenne and the racks I priced out at REI racks are close to $600 and do not fit the vehicle as well as I'd like. They didn't have the stuff I needed in stock my last visit and the staff today was less than helpful. Does anyone know a good website to buy the roof rack system and kayak racks; or another store besides REI to buy racks for your vehicle? I'd prefer to have someone install the racks rather than mess with it. Thank you for your time! :wsb:

Does your suz have oem bars? What kayak do you have or plan to have?
|
Cayenne?
"Prefer to have someone else install the racks..."? Maybe kayak fishing is not the sport for you... |

Maybe he can find someone to tie-on hooks and reel the fish in for him too! :D |
What exactly do you need? We stock Thule as said above and can help with install no problem. Most people prefer to have a shop install their racks, thats why we do it.

Focus
Maybe, you should stick to the post or shut your mouth.

Thank you
My friend has a 4 runner and said his racks were a pain to install. Not sure whats up with all the haters here on BWE. If it's $20-$50 for an install I'm not going to be a cheap ass and have a professional company do it. Thanks for getting back to me. I'm going to get them installed some time this week and will look into your company.

No bars.
No bars, just the rail system.

All you need is the CrossRoads, they are super easy to install. 280.00 for feet, bars and locks. 15-20 minutes Max. install time. I have them in stock and ready to go, I can do it any day this week while I am here with a heads up (today through Wed). We dont generally charge install fees but do appreciate tips and/or beer for the favor ;)
4 Runner racks are pretty easy too, not sure which one your friend has but nothing Thule does is really that hard. |
Be sure to wash off your Porsche after taking the yaks off from use. The saltwater will ruin that beautiful car.
Go to OEX. Brent, CJ and Brian are the best! |
No haters here...
Just trying to tell you that, without some sort of self-reliance and ingenuity, maybe being 3 miles out in the ocean isn't the place you want to be... I'd like to think we are all somewhat responsible for ourselves. You may not be able to get hire someone you need when your rack comes lose on the I-5 at 75 mph, when your bait tank suddenly quits at 7:00 AM, or when you run that 1/0 hook into your hand, barb included. End of my input. If you want to discuss further, PM me. |
Roof rack system
You are a hater. It's remarkable you are trying to insult me for driving a nicer vehicle than you.
It's apparent you drive a shitty car and nobody likes you. I'm not sure how having someone install my roof racks for $50 equates to survival skills. I spent 6 years in the Marine Corps. I'm not scared of sinking my kayak and really wasn't seeking your safety dissertation. I inquired about roof racks. In the future maybe you want to be a little bit more respectful to others. We are all on this site to fish and kayak. If you are not on this site for those reasons you should leave it. Quote:

Mr. Soup, I'm not a hater and I was just trying to have fun. I haven't fished in 10 days and maybe I'm getting a little punchy.
My knots aren't that good so I'm not the guy for you. He'll if I can make any money while fishing, that would be a bonus. I am a DIY type of person (i tie my own flies, wrap rods, mow my own lawn). That's just me. I'm putting my money that you really could install the racks on your own. BUT IF you have the time and $ to have other people do it for you then rock on. It is America after all. Continue to do your part to keep the green-backs changing hands. This site has some of the funniest AND knowledgeable people on it. Maybe a few haters, but on the whole good peeps. :cheers1: |
