first timer

My first time in my own kayak was the day of the big sale which I was there all night waiting very impatiently for. Patience is not my best thing so for me to sit there all night and wait has to say alot. I got a stealth 12 grey camo it looks sharp on the water too i must say. lol :) Came home slept for a few hours got up and went to the beach (cherry beach) and did my very first mini surf launch and land. My first impression was holy shit I'm gonna flip. Hun help me, I am scared and he could see the shock and fright on my face so sneakers and all he came to rescue me from my own scare,:afraid: but I did not give up I got back on the kayak and I went back out and now I had to wait for him to catch up for someone in a hobie he sure was slow lol but he said the seat kept sliding and his peddles wasn't working right. When he finally caught up to me he asked me where I wanted to go I look to my right and can almost see the Queen Mary and then I look to my left and see an island that he works on and said lets go there. He said ok let's go. Got 3/4 of the way there and I was like ok let's turn around and go back, he asks why I said its getting late and i don't want to try landing in the dark so we turned and headed in and to both mine and his surprise I did not flip the yak at all so yay me. lol :) Then on Sunday we went out again this time we went off a boat dock and I think i did better Chitown54 (hubby) said when he got all set to come out I was long gone and he had to hurry to catch up to me. I feel I am getting better on the kayak I have always been afraid of the water cuz I almost drowned in it 2 times by it knocking me off my feet but now I am getting over that fear and being able to do something with someone I love I think that is what makes it all worth while for me and gives me the courage to try kayaking and not wanting to give up to easy. He is my strength. So thank you from the bottom of my heart hun (Chistown54) I love you. :you_rock:

We sold my daughters yak which was chitowns first but it was a battleship (extreme) foam filled so we not only got mine but we got her a mini so we could go as a family sometime. May be this weekend he had to work this past weekend so that was a no go. Yea chitown spoils me only cuz he gets spoiled too. :)

Even Candy? Those teeth might hurt a bit. Unless they are denchers... Which might be even worse. Just saying.

Actually if you waited around for an hour they brought out 4 more stealth twelves. I got the second to last one. So worth the wait.

chisgirl54 10-17-2012 02:52 PM

lol being first in line has some advantages to it i got a grey camo stealth 12 i am happy with my choice:)

Where you mount it depends on what you have on your kayak. As an example, I can mount my camera pole in one of the molded rod holders on the kayak or stick it in one of the rod holders that are on the bait tank. Some yakkers mount it on the bow of the yak and others keep it mounted to their head/chest.
