Launched with overcast skies this morning and the tide was high. Sun finally broke out and caught these two fish. One weighed in at 32 lbs. and the other was 26 lbs. It's yo yo time. Caught them on 30 lb. test with a blue and white 6x jr. Don't be afraid to use 40 lb. test....these boys have shoulders! Look for the birds and yo yo in that area. I was living right today. bloody shirt

I went in to a store to by some ice for the fish with that shirt on and I got some double looks. I think they figure it out by the smell I smelt pretty fishy. the shirt is pretty much wrecked but maybe I should keep it and wear for good luck for fishing. Jim take care of that back of yours. I feel your pain. I know the feeling. Its sucks getting old. These young guys do not know yet but they will. the body can only take so much. Well go out and get them. Good luck. Jim.

Wow.. congratulations Sitinside Jim nice fish, that kind of fish will be a dream come true for me. I fish on Baja and to catch a Yellowtail I will have to paddle at least 6 or 7 miles and be on the right spot on the right day so thats why I usually catch just calicos.. :(:(

ashmoz 12-10-2012 08:43 PM

there's a guy on another board who fishes santa rosalita or something along those lines. he gets yellows and grouper by the boat load every trip and is inshore.

ratdog 12-11-2012 12:56 PM

Thanks for you reply, I guess you mean "Santa Rosalia" is far from were I live "Ensenada" :( but you are right "Sea of Cortez" is a paradise for kayak anglers. Next year I'll make a trip to SOC.
