They have one out called the spray box but its super expensive so maybe this one will be cheaper.

Well the website says they're available now for $65 bucks, order one and figure out a way to expand the capacity!

How about the pump instecticide sprayers from homedepot? That's what I use. I got the idea from Todd (C-level) a long time ago.

Do those sprayers give much pressure? I know the guy is working on a 3 gallon model.

I think so, if you're using it for the yak, beach, fishing reels, etc. Now if you want to spray down your truck probably not. You never want to use high pressure on your reels anyway.

With the right nozzle setting its plenty of pressure for my application. Perfect for rinsing off reels without driving salt and sand inside

Yea try a sprayer out first and save some money. I used to have one and it would get a lot of pressure built up if you wanted. You could even take off the nozzle and get a stream too. Good for rinsing off reels, your feet, etc.. I may have to pick up another one now that this thread reminded me of it.

no way 1.5 gallons will be enough. The cool factor is there but that's it.

I too have used the insecticide sprayers. Just make sure you get a big one, I got a small one and it just doesn't maintain pressure like the big ones do.

Im definitely going to purchase one of these, im really interested in the future possibilities for something like this. I will report back and let everyone know whats up.

Cool, like Ed said get a big one.. they hold pressure alot longer. Leave a bit of air space at the top instead of filling it completely up and it's good to go.

If it only uses your household pressure then you will not get all the water out of the unit at pressure. 1.5 gallons will not be enough for that spray head. For smaller misting type heads you can make due with 1.5 gallons.

making one and tailoring it to your needs is probably better than that thing. I have a 5 gallon tank with another 5 gallon jug just in case, if I really need to rinse a whole bunch of stuff off. Its usually enough for me and a few other guys as well. Don't know for sure how this thing works sounds like it pressurizes from home...what if it leaks??? no pressure...what if you needed or wanted to add more water to it in the field??? Washdown pump and tank is the way to go.

One drawback with that thing is that you cannot refill it "out in the field" without access to pressurized water. Maybe it has a manual pump?

Anyhow, a large garden bug sprayer that is air pressurized (with a manual pump on top) works well too. Get a metal one and you can set it next to a fire or on top of a stove for a hot shower. Of course the top needs to be off before you can heat a metal bug sprayer on a stove top - or BOOM...

That nomad is definitely the better of the two units, simply because it can be refilled anywhere. Dont know about washing your car with it but looks like a good unit for light duty stuff.

I picked up a spray box and could not be happier. Yes a little on the expensive side but a very well made product.

I use a Nomad 12V. Made a plug for it that powers from my trailer lights outlet. Start the truck put on the running lights, plug it in and spray the yak down. Works perfect.
