What is the limit, 2?

Theophilus 09-13-2013 09:35 AM

White Seabass

White Seabass

The recreational fishery for white seabass (Atractoscion nobilis) remains open year round. The daily bag and possession limit is three fish except that only one fish may be taken in waters south of Point Conception between March 15 and June 15. The minimum size limit is 28 inches total length or 20 inches alternate length

You think he is in trouble, what a waste, we all lose because of people who break the laws. Greg thanks for the post.

Anyone call the cal tip hotline yet?

blitzburgh 09-13-2013 10:59 AM

Jeebus. :shot:

WildernessWanker 09-13-2013 11:08 AM

His name is George Sisino, although he probably answers to Captain Dumb-@$s as well. I'll be on the lookout for that little raft every time I'm in that area :D

jorluivil 09-13-2013 11:08 AM

Greg Did mention(on some other site) that someone already reported this dipshit to the DFW

Dannowar 09-13-2013 11:14 AM

im pretty sure that dude owns Clout surf shop in malibu. hes a joke in the surf community as well.

Drake 09-13-2013 11:25 AM

As much as I agree that this guy is a giant piece of shit, If he did keep all five, legally, he can argue there was another person in the boat that can not be seen. The entire vessel isn't in the shot and the burden of proof is on the DFG or whichever agency is responsible for the persecution. I would be surprised if this goes any further than the blasting of him on the internet. It's sad, it's a shitty legal system we live in and I hate to see this stuff happen.

He sure isn't hiding, he's all over Google, pics an all. His ego is bigger than any fish he stole!

WildernessWanker 09-13-2013 11:28 AM

He may have already been reported, but I also reported it just for good measure. This is unacceptable behavior and jack-wagons like that ruin fishing for everyone else who has the decency to follow the rules. Funny thing is he supposedly runs a sporting good store catering to water-sports, I'm half-tempted to walk in there and try walking out with something without paying! It'd be fun to say I caught his video and thought since he doesn't follow fishing regs he probably wouldn't care if I broke some other rules by taking something I wanted without paying. I could always use ignorance to fall back on if that's his excuse!

Aaron&Julie 09-13-2013 11:33 AM

I'm not trying to defend this guy at all, since some of you seemed to know the character.
But, did he have another fisherman on board? Who was doing the video-taping?
If there were 2 guys fishing they're allowed to keep 3 each, and there is 5 on the stringer, meaning they (if there were 2 fishermen) could have caught 1 more fish.
I must not be seeing the violation/problem here, which is what?
Thanks,
Aaron

X2, where's the proof he was alone?

FARRIER 09-13-2013 11:38 AM

I was just wondering since his identity is no secret; if anyone bothered to pick up the phone and get the facts from him directly before blasting him?

Drake 09-13-2013 11:39 AM

Don't get me wrong, it appears he was alone.

easyday 09-13-2013 11:42 AM

You can clearly see hes holding the cam. So then anyone that has a go pro mount could catch 9 seabass and just say there were 3 in the yak right? I would like to think that I hear no other voices or no other movement in that tiny pos raft he has. I would argue he is alone.

Cadillyak 09-13-2013 11:45 AM

Smh:(

Drake 09-13-2013 11:55 AM

He does say "This one we are gonna weigh"
That doesn't prove anything, but is food for thought. Eye witness accounts are going to be the only thing valuable in proving his guilt.

easyday 09-13-2013 11:59 AM

Oh yea I have no doubt in my mind that the law cant prove anything. Too much circumstantial stuff.

I wouldn't dispute your argument, that he is alone. I do not video-tape any of our fishing trips, so I can't really tell he's the one holding the cam.
Hey, if he kept 5 that he caught all by himself, I'm totally with all of you, he's a sleazeball scumbag, and I hope he gets caught, too.

sadly you could probably call the dfg all you want...you can't prove anything...he could say that somebody else was on the boat so if dfg contacted him he could say that he could have kept 1 more...

In all likelihood, he was probably by himself...and over limits, but just like denzel Washington said in training day...."it's not what you know, it's what you can prove".

Aaaaannnnnnnddddddd now everyones headed to county line. .......

chxh8me 09-13-2013 12:54 PM

I will vouch for the guy. His name is George. I was there that day and was right next to him when he hooked that big fish. He had a buddy with him (in a kayak alongside) who had two of his own for the morning. When George hooked that big fish, it took him way down the beach. His buddy followed him in the kayak the whole way. While motoring his Zodiac back up the beach, I'm pretty sure he put his buddies fish on his stringer so he wouldn't have to paddle his fish back.

George's other two fish were the result of a double hookup (in which he landed both), which I also witnessed. After he caught that big fish (3rd fish), he motored in. I was on the water before him and after he left that day. He only caught 3.

chxh8me 09-13-2013 12:57 PM

And no. No ones missing a WSB bite. This was back in June.

this is good info if it is true. The internet is so quick to hang anyone by a noose. This becomes a gray area in regards to "possession" limits, but that is very very gray and don't think anyone would think twice about it if they weren't his fish. Hopefully people continue to read through the whole thread and not focus on the first posts

Agreed.
But people like him also need to be careful when posting stuff like that. People are quick to hang... but he might as well have walked himself to the gallows with that video.

makobob 09-13-2013 01:42 PM

Maybe that WAS his intent?

619-SWIM-DOG 09-13-2013 01:53 PM

Wow that's one big WSB....

Old Man in the Sea 09-13-2013 01:56 PM

maybe Julie might have been in the raft???;):wsb::wsb::wsb::wsb::wsb:

Sdspeed 09-13-2013 02:26 PM

Was the boat an inflatable or the second angler?:D

Fiskadoro 09-13-2013 03:31 PM

That looks like George Sisino of Clout Surfshop in Malibu.

It looks like he's fishing alone, but he could have a hook and line commercial license.

Call him and ask him yourself.

Clout surfshop 29575 PCH MALIBU, CA 90265 310-457-1511

Edit... Ha ha ha...... I should of read more of the thread before posting but like I said that looks like George, and even if he is alone he could have a hook and line commercial license. I know several guys in the Malibu and Channel Islands area that have them and though they usually target halibut they'll hit the seabass as well. It's funny but every time I'm approached by the DFG up there when I'm in my skiff the first thing they ask is if I'm fishing as a rec or commercial. Hook and line commercial licenses are more common then you might think, but ask Dim Jay he's the expert on Malibu.

100% innocence......until proven guilty in a court of law. Nothing wrong with speculation, its in the human nature, just be careful how you use it.
