Lake Perris?
 

Anyone here ever Yak Lake perris , just curious if anyone ever goes out there....been my home lake since i was four....since its so close going to be testing out the new yak woot!

Man I haven't been there since hight school.

What kayak did you buy?

Summer time can get pretty stupid there....lots of drunks driving boats and people leaving trash....


Rest of the year it is a fun fishing lake.

I go every so often. Go during the week if possible to avoid most of the douche-baggery. Pre-spawn should be going on or starting soon. Lots of fun on the yak or tube getting in the skinny water and sight fishing. Also, troll some Raps in front of the dam. Can be really fun!

Yes, I used to sup fish there alot. Launch at the back lots. I think 12.
That back lagoon and along the shore towards the east produce. The bass use that cover. They hit and burn back into it. So you have to work hard to keep their head turned.

I have fished it once and heard there were some good stripers. .. and big cats.rock some power bait

Big LMB in Perris. Got a 7 lber out of boat. But yakking is doable.
Try deep in trench , find drop offs. Shallow at tires, and along reeds. Better to go during week. Too many jet skis and power boats. Also the wind is annoying to yak fish from but doable if you go early.

I ended up buying that $200 dollar one from craigslist ...the only thing that bothers me is that the whole damn thing is painted ...even the LOGO's are painted other wise im gna probably fix it up a little and have it as a friend/back up yak until i get something really nice in the future.

you are telling me ...a jetski hit my dad and I on our bassboat head on going full speed...been there when on multi occassions when they where diving for bodies.. kinda creepy.

Hey Pelican I am also in Moreno Valley! sounds like we need a perris group gathering or maybe an IE crew for Newport.

Yea lets go! i only go on the weekdays i cant stand the speed boats and jet skis! ...

yeah Perris is my normal bass lake. fishing last years was spectacular.

Fish let me know when you want to go.. Im up for it.. And you dont have to worry about the jetski or idiot boaters.. We fish the east end which is pretty much a no wake zone.. I have never been a big fan of the tire reef, there is a high spot everyone fishes in the summer over by sail cove but if the regulars are there fishing live crawdads its pretty pointless cause tis all the bass want.

I went once last summer. I found a fun school of large bluegill that were willing to strike my kastmaster and lost a good sized largemouth at the dam. I also managed to find a couple spots where the lake connects to smaller ponds that are connected by very shallow ( 1-2 inch depth) channels. Luckily any sit on top is easy to get in there and those should be fun during the spawn if we can get some rain to make the channels deep enough for breeders to swim through.

Lived there for about 12 years, right down the street by the easter market. Never fished out of a yak there but spent plenty of summer days fishing with my dad from the shore. There are some big bass in there. I went to valley view graduated in 2000 anyone else I might know out there?

skunked :( talked to a few guys and nothing either , like others where saying should be changing pretty soon with the weather..a little pre-spawn action.

oh yea that sail cove spot , have done well there in the past......Im wondering when they are going to fill the lake up...i would imagine not for a while...its been down for years now.
