I don't like to clean up glass, I prefer to use fish blood. Haven't been on the water for at least 2 months due to life stuff. First day out fishing on the new yak, get my bait on and on the water by 8:30, troll around for about 45 min and get greenback slammed on the fly. Midway through my bendo the "Sea Adventure" with 60 or so passengers see my rod and proceed to anchor right next to me. Get one fish in, move south and drop another mac out and before I can let it out all the way get slammed again. About 8 kelp beds later I get number 2 in and head on home.
Great way to break in the new Outback, which I love. A few small things I appreciated about the new yak that I noticed on the water. New cupholders accommodate my Nalgene and a beer bottle perfectly, no little water puddles either warming up my cold beverage. Rudder up and down system way more ergonomic when needing to use quickly. Bait tank sits nice and low in the new design, better stability it seems. Lastly of course the seat is so $$$$, best seat ever!
On a final note the size of the tow fish were both at aprox 20lbs. The meat color was way different though, one really dark and one nice and white. What determines the difference in color? Same with Lobster sometimes too... Anyways fun and super stoked on the investment, worth it for sure. Got some nice Poke, Smoked and Sashimi out of the deal.

Nice going on the YT! I have a Revo which I like alot. But stability wise, if I ever get another Yak, it will probably be an outback!

Score!! I am stoked for you! Spent all last night checking the wind and at 11pm with gusts still out here in La Mesa decided to stay at home. My wife was more upset than me this morning because she had to deal with me all day.
I will say that my last tail was left on ice for about 28hrs...the difference in flavor and meat texture was very noticeable.
Great to see two more wonderful fish headed to the table!

in my experience, the color of the meet has mostly to do w/ how you handle the fish after it's caught. to get that real nice, light colored hamachi you should bleed out fish right away. i cut artery from gills to heart and try to keep fish's tale above it's head. i also gut fish as soon as convenient. parasites can travel from gut to the meat after the fish dies, so if you are going to eat it raw, gutting is not a bad idea. gutting also helps to get fish colder quicker. i shove ice inside after gutted and mix w/ saltwater for slush. fish is firm enough to filet within a few hours.

Nice fish Chuck. But I call BS on christening a kayak with a Champagne bottle without pics (of the bodily damage done by the bottle flying backwards).

Had a similar experience. Hooked up on a Yellow last Friday and the New Seaforth was on my A in no time.

Same here. I had irons that missed me by about 30 feet when I was bent.

Hope all is well bro and the kids are being too tough on ya. As for the seat it is amazing! First you are dry all day, super comfy (I use the high front setting and one notch down in the back to create kind of a lounge chair effect), plenty of adjustment options. Stability is fantastic (even with 5 hoop nets), I don't even notice a difference in stability yet I get a better, dry and more cushy view. Also you can store stuff under the seat, I was thinking next time maybe trying to stuff my fish under there. I would upgrade for sure, its a no brainer;) Hope to see you on the water soon buddy.
