To help get you through the rain.

I made a compilation of shots from the last couple months in La Jolla. Hope this will help get some of you through the rain. Enjoy!

That casting shot is sweet, good video dude

momo fish 03-02-2015 09:10 AM

Best video I have seen! Nice work, how did you set up the jig shot when casting?

FISH11 03-02-2015 09:51 AM

Great video. You had a lot of trust in the Go Pro to Iron connection. Sweet shot!

taggermike 03-02-2015 09:53 AM

That was awesome. Did you strap a gopro to your iron and cast it? That soupfin was cool to see too. Thanks for posting up. Mike

StinkyMatt 03-02-2015 10:16 AM

I'm not sure if that jig shot has been done before....likely not!

That was very innovative......very cool videos.

:cheers1:

Like other have said, throwing a jig with a GoPro? Brave!

Also, pretty brave yanking the mirage drive. You flip and she GONE!

Awesome Video!

chris138 03-02-2015 10:49 AM

Cool video! Love the iron cam!

Jremmie 03-02-2015 10:51 AM

Thanks for all the positive feedback! So for the iron shot I tied it on with an excessive amount of braid. I was more worried about my mono to jig connection than anything else. Tadylures on Instagram seemed to like it as well. As far as pulling my mirage drive out at the end, how do you do it? I've bent 3 masts now and don't want to replace another. All three times were in the surf with one peddal all the way forward.

bolocop 03-02-2015 11:09 AM

What I do now is that I time the wave in, peddling like crazy (no paddle out at all) trying to follow the back of a wave. Usually, I can keep my speeds high enough to get through before the next one. When I get to waist high water, I jump out. As I get to thigh high water, I'll disengage the drive, pull it out and then pull up the rudder.

In your video, you pulled out the drive and rode the wave sideways for a while. That's what scared me because I'd probably flip over. You seem more experienced.

You should have your mirage drive on a good leash. Always.

surfisher 03-02-2015 11:48 AM

You're right, but leashes are like condoms, they get in the way and I hate to use them.

YakDout 03-02-2015 12:19 PM

True but it could get expensive with no leash. Same with no condom.

kauaiboy04 03-02-2015 12:28 PM

JeffB 03-02-2015 01:12 PM

Cool stuff. I have seen a camera cast before, but not attached to an Iron.

Southman 03-02-2015 03:47 PM

I thoroughly enjoyed your vid. As I have yet to catch my first
YT, I can at least live vicariously through your great camera shots.
