Alls good that...

Forgot my hat at home.

Had no bait tube or bait tank.

Bait stolen by seal.

Only 20-lbs-test line.

No gaff.

Dumped on the way in and tore off a flush-mount rod holder, and lost a knife and wrecked a phone.

None of that matters now...

Hey, that's my boat! (in the background of the first pick) At least it's part of a great report. I had all the right gear. Didn't forget anything. Caught no fish:(Maybe I'll have bad luck next time and get me a 50 lb :wsb: like Eric. Way to go.

tattuna 06-07-2009 07:51 PM

Bad things happen to all of us, but a great to see how a nice catch can take all the misery away! Nice one man!

Vikingj 06-07-2009 08:20 PM

Nice fish and good attitude. Thanks for reminding us to not worry about the little things and to celebrate the joyful ones. My grampa always said "don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!"

THE DARKHORSE 06-07-2009 10:17 PM

Beautiful fish!

Ahhh, the ol' leave the gaff at home trick, fish light line and get slammed by a big WSB...sounds like a perfect plan to me. Looks like you still ended up a few hundred dollars ahead at the end of the day, good job!

ericjg22 06-08-2009 06:26 AM

The hat in the on-the-water photo was a $5.99 special that George bought at 7-11 on the way to the water - didn't really wind up needing it as we were off the water by 8am.

I posted the report for my buddy George - at his direction. George is a newbie, as am I. I think I was more excited than I would have been had I actually landed it - I did wind up gloving the fish and pulling it from the water.

George was good enough to give me as much fish as I wanted - any recommendations on how to prepare it?
