RoeBoat 11-01-2010 08:16 AM

OK, what's the story with the picture. Photoshop?

jorluivil 11-01-2010 08:33 AM

I say photoshop.

GregAndrew 11-01-2010 09:13 AM

Nah, Rob would not shy away from a fight like that. He would more likely turn around and snarl like a junk yard dog at a big shark.:biggrinjester:

WahooUSMA 11-01-2010 10:43 AM

Encase software say's "No indication of photo shop" and nothing in the header ie signature, etc. So if it is real, like Roeboat said, what's the story?

scoop 11-01-2010 10:50 AM

I'm certainly no expert, but a quick look at the pic using GIMP does not show any obvious editing. Gulp!

flydigital 11-01-2010 11:23 AM

IMO photoshopped

dfroggy54 11-01-2010 12:01 PM

Nice rudder.

How do you get them to cooperate like that?:sifone:

old_rookie 11-01-2010 12:15 PM

That's funny. I think it is PS'd too.

maui jim 11-01-2010 12:27 PM

Maui calls Bullshit....to much straight back drippage off dorsal... seen one or two in my day, up in Santa Barbara and Oside..that tax man is a no go..., and if it's true ...HOW BITCHEN IS THAT..

Ha Ha...If that was for real I'd probably just sit there frozen in fear listening to the sounds of myself crapping all over the place. :D

robmandel 11-01-2010 02:13 PM

jim's having fun at my expense. it's a long line, he musta waited for hours :D:D:D

goes to this post here
http://www.kayaksportfishing.com/php...ic.php?t=10165

seems all the shark attacks have been on something red. I'm paddling my red P13 off malibu a while back home to (I've been told :biggrinjester: :biggrinjester: :biggrinjester:) many a tax man. oh well, I obviously survived. helluva good photoshop though. and kinda scary when ya think about it because I probably woulda been totally unaware, and my wingman would've probably just snapped the pics and laughed :D:D:D

I always thought that Yum Yum Yellow was the color that attracted sharks?

I think it might depend on the species of shark.

I use to make shark trolling lures for fishing makos and Tsharks and all the bright colors work, but red and red pink combination's worked the best.

I think the safest color shark wise is blue. One reason I camo'd my kayak hull was that I was concerned about the bright lime green hull attracting sharks.

Lime is bad enough, the trade off is you want boaters to see you, but personally I would not own a Red Orange or Yellow yak. I've seen first hand that our local sharks are definitely attracted to those colors.

Does OEX sell......Bat shark repellant? :biggrinjester:

bigbarrels 11-02-2010 10:33 PM

the largest shark I had near my kayak that I knew about was when I had a red X-FActor.......7-8 feet between the caudal and dorsal fin and just buzzed by around 10-20 yds away......but I also had two fish on a game clip (lesson learned). Now I have a Mango kayak and so it sounds like it is just a matter of time:)

Geoffkoop 11-05-2010 02:22 PM

Photoshopped....but pretty good.

maui jim 11-07-2010 05:30 PM

Hey Batman, your dorsil fin looks backwards
