La Jolla 10/25, cherry popped

After hitting La Jolla last summer and fall about 40 times, then this year about 15 times, I finally got to sink my gaff and pull one aboard. I have learned and used most different ways to rig the lines and have hooked up many times, but seems something would always happen. Loose them in the kelp, the most common was to loose them to the seals and had Irons shook loose from the head shakes. Last couple of times even had seals take them while securely hooked with circle hooks. I guess, It was so I would appreciate it even more. Just like easyday Josh I was beginning to wonder when would it finally happen. Yes finally popped that Kayak Yellow Tail Cherry. Woooooooo Hooooooooo Yellow Tail! YEAH!

Mark, I didn't know this was your first on the kayak - congrats. I'm glad you got one to the gaff. I had the impression you had landed a couple this summer season already.

Keep up the good work...

Yeah unfortunately I had many hook ups in the past and lost them. When we fished the Rumble Fish Tournament, I hooked and lost two that day using a Tady 45 Iron. I was so sick I didn't go out with you guys that next day, because I remember seeing your reports and you had 3 yellows by yourself. Now it will be easier to get more, now that cherry is popped. Thanks Roby. Mark

I had not herd the one about the tea Tony. How does it go? Does it give you bigger brass ones. That would help in case I see that GW out there.

Deamon 10-27-2014 12:15 PM

What, no ones even mentioned those shorts??? Luckily that tail is larger and brighter. Nice pop! Jim
