That thing is so freakin big

jorluivil 02-27-2015 04:39 PM

you're going to need one of those oversized load signs for your truck

Hey Andy, are the Hobie cradles for sale and how much if so?

Thanks Toby

Iceman 02-27-2015 05:43 PM

The set for the Pro Anglers sells for $227, they are designed to be used on the Trailex Trailers that utilize track bolts. I drilled holes through the load bars and bought 4 2 " bolts. washers and nuts for an easy install.

That thing is awesome! I'm close to swapping my two pa's for one beast!

Will this kayak be available at the Demo day?

Iceman 02-28-2015 08:34 AM

Yes as long as I don't sell it before then. BTW no demo day manana canceled due to the high probability of rain Demo day March 14th

Geeze the tongue on that trailer looks way too short for that boat, you need red flags and two lights on the back of that boat still.

True that!

Perspective, it is a crazy thing. All I did was take this photo from another angle, makes the tongue look plenty long. The letter of the law is that the load can not hang over the rear trailer axle more than 1/2 the distance measured from the rear axle of the vehicle to the rear axle of the trailer. I do plan to red flag it, but the trailer lights should be easily viewable.

Interesting fact about this kayak is in the construction. I have only seen one other kayak with the "foam" lining found inside the PA 17, that was the early year Malibu Kayaks Extreme, it is supposed to aid in retaining it's shape.

Had to try it out, took it up to Redondo with Ben for a quick rockfish session this morning. Slim pickings on the rockfish, but really fun roomy fishing platform.

Andy,
Where you able to launch from the small ramp in front of the lagoon? How did it perform?

Iceman 03-01-2015 01:27 PM

yes, launched from the hand launch, I was impressed with how it moved along and felt really comfortable in it.
