hook up bait

I didn't even know we had saltwater stripers around here. Is that LB?

Iceman 02-13-2018 11:58 AM

Yup in the LB, guys get em in the surf too near any fresh water flows.

NICE FISH!!!!

When I first heard of the Hook UP Baits, I took a look and couldn't think they were worth 3x the cost of a few Big Hammers. I blew em off, and kept with what I already knew. Then all the forums are blowing up with posts about the HUBs, so I dropped a couple bucks one few colors in each size. I tied on of last night and dropped it in the pool to see how they act. Man you aren't kidding...erratic is the perfect word to describe these. On a slow retrieve bouncing the tip of the rod, these things jump side to side anywhere between 1 to 2 feet and if you give the rod a good flick, they will go 3-4 feet side to side on each bounce. I can't wait, to get a few of these wet.

I know what I am adding to my Fred Hall shopping list.

Not like I need more gear.

Looked at the site and they have jigs with the hook already in, or worms with separate leadheads. If a guy just wanted to have a few in the box, to throw from time to time. Which to get?

Hookup

I'm not a plastic guy...I'd rather have a sardine or a mack at the end of my line looking for a nice trophy halibut or yellow...but these Hookup Baits have made me a new convert...I've caught just about everything on them including some nice big Trout. :you_rock:
They Work...especially if you add some of the anchovy or ghost shrimp secret sauce from NewFishAll...these tube baits are perfect for squirting some sauce up that hollow tail and once it's in there the fish seem to fight to get that bait in their mouth...!

I picked up some at FH last year, little ones for bass have worked killer for fresh and salt. I bought the bigger ones thinking they would slay the halibut. I like the ones with the hook and head built in.
