Fish finders

I have recently purchased a hobie sport kayak and am looking for a fish finder. Any recommendations on one? I am looking to spend around $100 or so.

Garmin striker 4

I would try to double your budget if possible and get the model with down imaging. I believe they call it clearvu. I don't have experience with Garmin fish finders personally, but it seems like Lowrance has been having issues with reliability on the smaller units, especially the hook5. it seems like Garmin is superseding them in quality and reliability on the smaller units. the older hook 4's were probably best on market a long time ago, not so sure now? good luck.

I've been fishing without one for years relying on dumb luck and some "memory" of where the good spots are. I think its time to upgrade

After you get one

And pass over the same spot where you have good success, you will probably realize why. 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water.
