Holly door mat!! Very nice catch :notworthy:

I thought traps only catch the small ones....;)

Where did you catch it? Depth?

steveooo 02-03-2012 06:32 PM

GregAndrew 02-03-2012 07:05 PM

It isn't a competition (for me at least) but I weighed the big Hali I caught in December (gutted and gilled) it came out to 31# on the shipping scale at work. These guys do look big but they are pretty flat and skinny. Lets stop going all "Red Fisher" on these and if you want to report a weight, use a scale.

All the same, that is a beautiful fish to be caught from a kayak and you should be proud.

Cheers,

KM

KM - Not sure what your problem is. A 45.5" California halibut is gonna weigh 35lbs easy. No need for a scale shot. :stupid:

Mr. JB - Nice flattie! :cheers1:

As I said, that is a gorgeous halibut and congratulations. I'd love to see a picture of it out of the yak. The big one I caught in December did noting, I thought I had about an 8-lb fish on. It wasn't until the Chesapeake Bay Retriever decided to help that things got interesting.

Cheers, KM

Thanks T-Rex, Steve, Greg, and everyone. I did not realize that I would have to justify my catch to "KeptMan".

Everyone enjoys a pat on the back once and a while, and for this I am quilty. I don't fish to be better than anyone else, nor do I post all my catches, or even put my ugly face in the pics. I thought most fishermen and fisherwomen would rather look at the fish rather than me or the scale. When fishing is not so stellar, I thought a pic of a nice fish might provide a little motivation.

So just to justify...this time only... here ya' go... Next time you get just the damn fish!
