Launched late around 6:30am this morning...set my alarm for 4:45, however forgot to set the ringer:D. Arrived to 1-2 foot sets, easy peazy launch. Made bait no problem...9 in the hatch in about 20 min, and off to slow troll - flyline and Carolina rig.

So, between short bites and the relentless dogs, I blew through 9 baits in no time. Went back in and made 2 more baits and proceeded to try the slow troll again and caught a bonito and a dog took the other bait. Went back in a made 3 more baits and tried it again for nada. Smaller fish chewing on baits.

Called it a day at around 1pm.

Talked to another guy on the beach, and his story was pretty much the same.

Wanted to fish the night time from 12am to sun-up, however not quit there yet fishing alone...

A couple of sporties were cruising around using there side scanning sonar, however they bailed.

Didn't see any fish caught, bird activity was around the sporties and lobster guys only.

Beautiful day on the water!

Geno

Which way did they go? North?

Geno Machino 10-27-2015 04:17 PM

The morning run they were cruising outside, all the way from around the corner to north of NW corner in about 300' it looked. Then they cruised toward the inside by the condo then went North. They came back later in the morning and finished off outside to condo for short bass. The other boat later in the day was off NW corner for awhile, anchored up, then metered around for quite a while and then anchored up way outside.

Which One

Geno,

Did you notice if your short bites were happening more on the flyline or the carolina rig? How much weight on the carolina?

Before sunrise there was a beautiful full moon on the western horizon. Sounds like now's a good time for the midnight to sunrise fishing, in terms of visibility, temperature and other conditions.

FWIW, I read a SD news blip this morning to expect higher tides and surf this coming week. Please confirm for yourselves.

Of course the newsperson is in her boots standing in the "flood" water.

What's funny is watching dramatic waves crash up against the Marine Room windows in some scenes, then kayakers coming and going in the background of other scenes. When they wrap up the report, the waves in the background look little.

So what is it? ... Really? Man-eaters or another ho-hum day in paradise?

I want to see a hammerhead running into the window of the Marine Room. Or a tuna.
