Lake Mohave

Anyone know a good place to launch kayaks at Lake Mohave? Also any good fishing spots. Planning to go there but don’t know the area. Targeting striped bass. Any info and tips will be greatly appreciated.

Thx
Mike

been trying to find some time to get to Willow Beach, just north of there. Perfect time to go this month!

Willow beach and the surrounding areas are beautiful. I’ve only been once on a canoe trip where we launched from the damn. Take yourself a life straw or some other water purifier and do yourself a favor and drink some of that crystal clear water.

Black Canyon up North is a great kayaking and fishing location (as the other 2 have mentioned), however it is a little bit more difficult to access. If you are looking for a quicker route, you can head out to Searchlight off of the 15 to Cottonwood Cove. You can launch there or take one of the dirt roads out there to a more remote location to a beach like 6 Mile Cove. Literally park your vehicle on the beach and go fish. Just as a heads up, Lake Mohave especially south of the Black Canyon can either be perfectly flat or the windiest/nastiest ocean you've seen. If wind is the case stick to the protected coves. Have fun!

Hit me up

I fish Mead a lot, Mohave a little. I live out in Vegas now. If you’re in the area hit me up and I can take you out on the boat

Back in the 70's we had am epic night stripped bite at Cottonwood off of a point. Must of caught 30 fish 8-14 pounds on anchovies...
