Upgrade to a AI or convert old Hobie Adventure?

I'm thinking to add a single ama to my 2014 Hobie Adventure and with it a small 2 stroke motor for some extra range. Cost as a factor, which route would you AI owners think would be the better choice?

From what I can tell the newer AIs are a bit wider so some speed is lost, so if I am to grab a complete package I'd probably buy an older used AI. On the other hand, the idea of having an outboard is also really appealing since I could get some extra range on it, but safety is another concern. Anyways, it be great to hear your thoughts. :paddleersmilie:

If you do attach a motor make sure you also install a towing device since you’ll be towing me and my Prowler too.

If you’re going to do the motor thing it seems like a solo skiff might be a better option. I’d imagine you’ll be towing your AI anyway, right? I know they can be roof-topped, but that sounds like a hassle.

Hey, Saba

Do you mind sharing that info here? I'm seriously thinking about getting an AI as well, and putting a motor on it might be an option. Thanks in advance!
