Cambria Slam Down 3

I attended Central Coast Kayak Fishing's Cambria Slam Down this weekend. It was an amazing event, the raffle prizes were absolutely amazing, they gave away a Jackson Kayak for the first place finisher and raffled off a Hobie Outback and a Malibu Kayak. I fished from 40' to 100' of water with some deadheads I made and some berkley gulp and squid. I hooked a 2 small blue rockfish and had 2 smaller lingcod follow them up and try and eat them off the line i tried to get them closer to gaff but they were not locked down on them. I landed my PB Blue Lingcod it was 32.2 inches and weighed a little over 15 pounds. I was an amazing event and I can't wait to go back next year.

That was your's truly eating it on the landing at the 10 minute mark. Dragging a heavy stringer brought my paddling efficiency to a record low and resulted in getting stuck in the kill zone.

Short report. Caught a decent ling, a nice cab, and a small rockfish. Fished til 11AM and the wind kicked up. Rolled the landing and lost a VHF and my headlamp. Came home with a foodsaver and some bragging rights. James, Frank, Roby, and Steve did well in a field of 155.

Steve got top prize in the raffle with his 2014 outback.

no sharks sighting for me, but I don't dangle my fish or bleed my fish in the water. Sharks are everywhere!!!, but its true cambria is alittle bit more sharkier.....
