Newbie Question

I fished this last year, it was so fun and just an all around great event. So my questions are, first, they talked about Radio's, which I assume are used to radio the weigh boats if you have a legal fish? If so, what kind of radios/Frequencies are used? Second, I heard that there was a secondary Tournament through Tourney X that dealt with total length of all fish, are they having this again this year? Thanks for the replies and thanks again for a great event!

Signed up. This will be my first MBC and i am a little curious about the weighing procedure. So are we to keep the fish in our bait tank? Do we call for a weigh boat? I am sure you will go through it all the day of the competition, just trying to get my head around it.

Yes that's usually the way it works. Catch a fish hold on to it until the weigh boat can come in and weigh it for you. You have to call them of course...not complicated at all.

Iceman 03-15-2018 03:41 PM

We have 2 weigh boats and gracious volunteers stepping up again this year. In the bass division you will be hailing a weigh boat or just paddle over when they are in your area. The 14 inch minimum length required means lots of fish caught with not a lot weighed in.
