Carlsbad lagoon
 

First time kayak fishing here I went and caught gohst shrimp last night we didn't launch till 9am immediately won't to the YMCA lagoon had one bite on gohst shrimp missed it we were also tossing big hammer baits and igot one small spottie I finally decided to drift the main channel with cut bait had something playing with my bait almost immediately let it mouth it for a good minute set the hook nice fight did two small runs before landing it turned out to be a short halibut 21 1/2 long left after 1pm
