Cabrillo Wall Tips

Hey all, so I decided to go to the Wall for the first time at Cabrillo. Planning on going Friday as the weather looks good that day.

First question. Anybody want to meet up in the morning?

Second question, whats the best way to work this monster? I figure I will work the inside or maybe paddle over to the opening and try the outside if there is no wind. Should I just drag a bait along the bottom and cast hammers to the rocks?

Also how much for live bait there? Or should I just use dead squid?

Many thanks.
David

I wish I had off Friday, I’d join you. I’ve been checking out a few spots myself down that way!!!

Take a sabiki. Bait is usually pretty easy to find

if you have a tank stop by nachos.. bring a carolina rig with about 2-3 ounces of weight and stick a sardine or anchovy down on the bottom for some fun.. no need to go on the outside.. from the multiple times I have been down there, all the fish we want have been caught on the inside along the walls.. pretty sure it's 20 a kayak scoop, may still be ten, give them a call or look online..

Where do you launch from at Cabrillo?

You can roll down the sand, but there is a boat launch ramp that makes it really easy if you have wheels. Just be careful where you park. Some of the spots are for vehicles with trailers attached only
