Mission Bay 06/14

Launched out from Dana landing at about 10:30AM. Peddled to the mouth of the channel then drifted back on the incoming tide. Managed a barred sand bass and 3 small calicos. I was mainly throwing a 3 inch pearl swimbait. Also hooked 3 lizard fish at once on a sabiki. Sorry no pics.

hey you caught some fish, that is better than a skunk. I haven't seen any lizard fish yet this year but I know eventually I will find some. The last time I fished the mouth I was catching jack smelt on the sabiki. Thanks for the report.

they were good just lightly grilled but I will try the boqueroes next time. I was catching them at the same time I was catching mackeral, at first I thought I was catching grunion.

If they were the big giantic ones, that would be a stretch, but the smaller models might be nice. Boquerones are so damn good with a glass of red vermouth. Top smelt might be better for it, or of course actual anchovies, but I feel like the top- and jacksmelts are going to be cleaner somewhow.
