Santo Tomas

Hey guys.....going to Puerto Santo Tomas on the 29th.....still no WSB bite but I need some Mexican love.....been there 3 times but always fished between the point and Rocas Soledad....this time I'm gonna launch at the Rio and work south towards Pta. San Jose. Last time we caught plenty of Vermillion for dinner and the local fishermen brought in lobster and abalone which we cooked in garlic and beer and is the best thing I've ever put in my mouth and I've been a chef for 25yrs. Any info would be greatly appreciated especially on launch sites off the 4wd road south of the river.

La Bocana itself is an alright launch, with a small beach just S of it, too. Then there is pretty rough coast toward the cement plant. You can portage just off the airstrip, into some reefy channel launches. Punta China is your spot to fish, launching from there.

Good luck.
