La Bocana

Wow! Check out www.mexfish.com Nov. 27th report for La Bocana. I guess that's where the yellowtail go after leaving the SoCal area. Sad dock picture tho'...same old keep everything you catch Mexican attitude.

Drool. I was hoping the big ones would swing north up to us, but it looks like they've swung the wrong direction.

That dock is a commercial landing. Those fish will go to the plant at 8 pesos per kilo whole. You do the math. That same old "Mexican attitude" is to feed the kids with hard on the water attitude in La Bocana.

I'll be fishing the yak in that area in a few weeks. It's great fishing.

I was there in September. Yak fishing was great until the south swell dirtied the water. I'd post pics, but left my camera there... so I have to go back for a week of fishing and more pics.

"sad dock picture" Yes I realize a lot goes to the local economy but I've seen the tourist hauls of 6 inch bottom fish which saddens me. After spending years in 3rd world countries in southeast Asia and South America, I know that all conservation issues take a back seat to putting food on the table.
Can't wait to see the pics....good luck.
