43-One of the famous residents of the aquarium.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...45be35c-la.jpg

We were done before the 6:00 PM closing time of the aquarium. Thus, with lots of daylight left, we walked to see the many shops close by.
There was even a very well stocked Turkish store.

44-One of the many restaurants that are found in town.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...a3c05ea-la.jpg

45-There is a famous book by this name if I recall. The name taken from the sardine production facilities.

We checked in our hotel, which was the same cost as the Morro Bay. It was not as good, be it the location, or the room as Morro Bay hotel. I wanted to stay an additional night there (before seeing it), but they wanted an additional $25.00. So I paid for another night at Morro Bay instead for the stay on the way back.

48-On the way to the Fisherman’s Wharf we passed a park that was full of Canadian geese. One has to be very careful when walking on the grass.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...21dbab0-la.jpg

49-They ran to us looking for food, but we could not feed them.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...2e7352e-la.jpg

50-We visited the Municipal pier where fishing was allowed.

51-It is hard to read, but the angler from right is standing almost on top of a “NO FISHING” sign.
I guess he is special and laws don’t apply to him.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...76aba86-la.jpg

Even though we were in the parking lot that was shared by the fishing pier and the Wharf, we did not know how to get to the Wharf.
We could not tell what we were looking at, at the marina

We checked out and headed back to find the Wharf once more.
We ended up at a parking lot. I had kept in contact with Ken Jones, and he was giving me advice and directions on where to go for different piers.
Like a personal Garmin GPS. But for the piers.
It seems we were at the Coast Guard Pier .

52-This gate is to a place called Coast Guard Pier. It is more like a jetty.

53-There were some divers getting certified.

54-Lots of baby @#$%^^&** and one big male with a loud noise.

55-A monument to the Fisherman’s Wharf.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...b3513a2-la.jpg

We finally found the Wharf and did a walk through.

56-The wharf is very charming. Lots of shopping and eating establishments.

If one goes to Monterey, one MUST go to the famous 17 Mile Drive .

61-After 17 Mile Drive, we drove to Carmel by the Sea.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...c045317-la.jpg

62-We had a nice lunch at this outdoor café. Lots of shops and restaurants in town, but parking spots not so easy to find.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...e06bc21-la.jpg

We left Monterey to go back to Morro Bay.

63-This is wine country between Morro Bay and Salinas.

64-We made pit stop at the south bond rest stop, and were shocked when we got out of the air conditioned 4Runner.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...8fd419e-la.jpg

Before turning south on HWY 1 to go to Morro Bay, we headed north once more to go to San Simeon.

65-Later when we arrived at the San Simeon Pier, it was 59 degrees. Wow, what a difference.

http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...594eb24-la.jpg

70-I did some fishing, but did not catch anything.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...4afca74-la.jpg

I found this shirt that had all of places that we visited on our trip.

71-After leaving San Simeon pier, we drove through a small town called Cambria.

We spent the night at the same hotel as before in Morro Bay and ate the same places too.

In the morning, we drove south and through Solvang once more. After some rest at Solvang, we drove to Stearns Wharf. I had fished that Wharf many times before.

72-I caught many calicos at the Stearns Wharf.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...404941a-la.jpg

73-The new 4Runner took us over and back in comfort and style. Very happy so far with the purchase.
http://www.photos.inherentlydifferen...9ca67a7-la.jpg

I took along my new electrical cooler. It kept the ice %75 frozen for the duration of the trip.
It was running during the travel in the car and in the hotel.

We left the Wharf when it got dark after a meal on the pier. We arrived home around 11:00 PM having taken the PCH.

It was good to be home again in our own beds.

The End.
