Kayak/SUP Rack Plans?

Anyone have a good lead on plans for a wood kayak/SUP rack?

I'm considering pitching the idea to my landlord of redoing a small part of her property and installing a rack for a few boats/boards/bikes.

Thanks in advance...

I would probably go down the route that most Marinas do. A simple tree style rack.

Design like this but home built or just find a cheaper one.

Not sure where you live or where storage would be but a freestanding rack would just be asking for theft in Los Angeles. Would need to be pretty tucked into the complex or in a shed or something.

Yeah, a one sided free standing rack is what I was thinking. Done right I think it could look really nice and it would fit the motif of the back area.

The location is tucked away, and the only way someone would see it is if they were snooping behind the building. It does happen, so my thought would be to integrate a locking feature into it. At the minimum to deter anyone that is brazen enough to try and carry off an 80lbs boat. LOL

Is it going to be in a covered location or exposed to the elements 24/7?

Exposed, so I'd want to get some bags/covers to take the brunt of the UV damage.
