Think I talked to you after you got the wsb. Did you think it was a sea lion pup? If that was you thanks for the pointers on how you got it. Anyway, you got some good eats when most of us got skunked. Well done!

Nice jorge.

Congrats on the not so wanted by-catch, Jorge. I'll take that kind of luck any day fishing. :cheers1:

Stop re-posting your catch....

lbsurf2ca 07-18-2016 08:36 PM

I think even if you were throwing surface irons you would still catch halibut.

Mr. NiceGuy 07-18-2016 09:14 PM

What was the weight of the halibut? It looks pretty meaty.

MITCHELL 07-18-2016 09:53 PM

I witnessed you....

Spanking !!!!!!Your meat...nice catch

Jorge,

First thing is first. Learn to ID fish.

Take fishing on step at a time. You'll get there. :notworthy:

F-ing figures you don't even know the difference between a seal bite and a fish...:the_finger::pepsi::reddy::icon_bs: :bandit: :banghead:

Yep, I saw a pup come out of the water about 100' feet from me, he went down and when he came back up I could see he was facing me. Normally, I would reel my lines up and save my bait but this time (for whatever reason) I decided to leave my lines in the water. A few seconds later my rod gets a light shake, a few seconds after that my rod goes bendo.........DAMN SEA LION!!!! When I get the sea lion to color it magically turned into a WSB......hate it when that happens.

What a day for you. Sweet catch. Cheers!

If you are fishing for sea lions you are supposed to release the by catch

FullFlavorPike 07-19-2016 09:04 AM

you can make a turbot and a whitefish look pretty big with camera tricks

cabojohn 07-19-2016 09:32 AM

Jorge, good thing your were not fishing for sand bass...you would prolly come back with BFT.

Nice haul :notworthy:

da22y 07-19-2016 09:48 AM

I hate it when I go for halibut but catch a sanddab instead. :D
