LJ Launch Ramp Closed April 29th
 

Just an FYI - there was a city sign up at the La Jolla launch ramp this morning saying that the launch will be closed to all kayak launch and retrieval on April 29th (Sunday a week from tomorrow) for an event of some sort.

Guess I'll be playing with my new fly rod in the bay next weekend...

I saw the sign Friday morning and talked to the lifeguards. I got the impression that the closure was for this Sunday but this link http://www.lajollahalfmarathon.com/e...events5e3a.htm
confirms the event is on the 29th. The sign at the launch also said the closure was from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. (They could have changed this). Most kayakers should be able to work around the closure but expect access and parking to be an extra special pain.
