YT on the bottom.

I prefer my Yogurt with YT on the bottom. Sorry for the poor visibility, but I have tried to work it as best I know how. This footage is from August through October.

(In my most stoic voice) I was at sea level. Sorry, I could not resist. The footage is all between 65 and 85 feet.

HobieScot 11-02-2015 03:36 PM

How did you rig the camera to get that constant shot?

It's nuts how long they spent just circling around the bait and sniffing it. I think it's a good thing I can't see what's down there when I'm on the water, because I'd just be flippin out, all tourette syndrome just screaming at the fish. Can't believe how many fish there were too. Tons of bait and everything.

Super cool!!!

Thanks for sharing Greg!

Well, that was the best footage from 3 months of UW video. There are lots of hours of watching the sand pass by. My highlight on Sun. was watching a Cormorant kill my bait.

It made me crazy just watching it. Did you catch anything?

rossman 11-02-2015 04:11 PM

Not enough bandwidth to watch your videos down here but looking forward to catching up on my next trip to the land of the free and home of the brave.

Would love to have your set up down here. Today I was on a reef in 60 ft of water and could see the lit up calicos, Garibaldi and the individual rocks. Simply gin clear right now.

Crazy how many yellowtail passed up your bait right in front of their face, wow!

Cbad Mike 11-02-2015 07:03 PM

Are they Tuna?
:D

acorad 11-02-2015 07:14 PM

Wow, that sure opened my eyes!

Q: Were you using a FF? Were you metering all those YTs?

Andy

I love watching your videos. It's so cool. I wonder if they were being picky because of the camera? Do you fish LJ?

I have caught a few, but usually between drops of the camera.

Yes, and some. It is surprising how small your cone angle is on 200.

If I were betting on it I would say the baits were not active enough and upright enough most of the time.

kjsdad619 11-04-2015 07:40 AM

That's insane! Thank you for the footage and insight!

captnblood34 11-04-2015 08:21 AM

Wild! Thank you Sir.

Harry Hill 11-04-2015 08:50 AM

Are you using a three way swivel? I see a black square where your lines join but I can't figure out what it is. Sometimes it looks like your bait is swimming but others the bait looks dead. I know this is video over three months so the baits are in different time frames. The school of yellowtail was nuts and not one bit the bait. It appeared at some times that you were slowly drifting and dragging the bait. I appreciate the time you took to do this and then share it here.

ctfphoto 11-04-2015 10:38 AM

Awesome informative video.

So this video tells me that my baits where probably checked out by ten thousand yellowtail this year for the dozen I caught :D

When do we get to see the flyline mackerel / Yellowtail video? :D:D:D:D:D:D:D
