Pro angler hatch sizes

Does the PA have a hatch under the seat?
Also does it have room to fit a car battery in the hull? If not where do the guys with trolling motors put there battery. Pretty sure someone here has one.

no hatch under seat and i dont believe you can fit it in the hull.

My 20amp is just small enough to to fit in the hull standing up.

Group 27 on the back behind my hobie bait tank.

thanks for the info! does the bow ride high with the the weight so far back?

Raskal311 12-31-2015 01:49 PM

with the bait tank full of maybe 6-7 (30ish lb) gallon it rides fine.

No, the pro angler is a pig.. Adding 60 lbs to the back is nothing.. Even with the bait tank. If you have to peddle it. It's noticble but to be honest I could get used to it an maintain my speed with the added weight of the battery and motor when not in use.

I've fished with my wife back there 100lb plus 10lb chair. And she's more toward the back then where I would put a battery. Didn't notice any change in the ride.

Battery

Blazin...here are a few photos of my 12v battery on my PA 14...I just used an old plastic battery box...you can get them at most auto or marine suppy stores.
I added a couple of wooden wedges to support the box since it sits on kind of a ridge of plastic...It puts the weight in a great spot rather than all the way in the back of the PA. You can fit a PWC battery inside the middle hatch but they don't have a very deep supply of juice...I use it for my Scotty Puller when hooping.

Scotty

Not to threadjack...But...
Tunaseeker/Todd...you asked for a few a few photos of my Scotty Power Puller on the PA...here you go.
This configuration works for the PRE 2015 Pro Anglers...since then the H-Rail was added and you now need to use a different type of riser that Scotty has in their catalog.

Saba thanks for the detailed pics! I think I may have to upgrade from my tandem outfitter to the pa14. Bought the Outfiter because my wife said she wanted to go with fishing with me, of course she never has. I have to put the battery in front to trim the bow down because without it the bait tank pulls the stern way low. By the way I attended your hooping seminar back in Kearny Mesa, good teacher!
